About
A native Alabamian, Ms. Cooper has over 30 years of experience in the field of nonprofits and adult education. A graduate of Auburn University at Montgomery with a double major in Business and English, her career in nonprofit (NPO) work has focused on the frail, the poor, the mentally ill, the accused, the elderly, and animal advocacy. Often the least thought of, without a voice, these groups have dominated her efforts through the years in every title NPO's offer -- from public relations to development, from marketing to executive director. As a student at The Institute for Organizational Management at The University of Georgia (Athens), her career path became sealed into community service where she has dedicated her career work. She has received numerous honors and awards and most recently, her philosophy regarding grant writing and fundraising was featured in the "Champions of Change" issue of CentralALInc! magazine.
Our Work
Forward thinking, change and relevance are key to today's successful nonprofit organization (NPO). As a consultant in this special body of work, Ms. Cooper is a problem solver for small to medium sized 501c3 organizations. Community relationship building, publication writing, program development, as well as advocacy are all mechanisms susceptible to change these days. She coaches NPOs through these processes and teaches leadership how to speak funder language, while finding new resources to meet community needs. To date, over 600 NPO professionals have been through Ms. Cooper's grant writing classes at the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce. These classes have been presented to a number of organizations outside the State of Alabama, as well. Ms. Cooper is often asked to speak at numerous colleges and universities including the Cary School of Nonprofit Studies at Auburn University and the School of Social Work at Troy University Montgomery. She has served on grant review committees for the State of Alabama Department of Education.
