How to Give

The Women’s Philanthropy Board relies primarily on the financial support of its members and corporate and business partners to sustain and grow its educational programs, mentoring initiatives, philanthropic impact, and operations. Historically, women have been philanthropic in giving of their time and talents. Today, women are building on this traditional humanitarian role with a capacity for independent financial giving as they acquire wealth, assume positions of leadership and combine their legacy of service to others. In 2014, WPB established a men’s auxiliary, The Phils, as a way for men to support the work and mission of WPB.

In addition to supporting the work of WPB, members and partners benefit through practicing collective philanthropy and attending networking events. Members and partners can participate in ticket presales for high profile WPB programs and can purchase parking passes for Auburn home football games.

WPB membership and partnership gifts are made through the Auburn University Foundation and are 100% tax deductible as allowed by law. Membership gifts are a part of donors’ cumulative Auburn giving and count towards the university’s overall giving recognition levels. WPB members and partners are recognized in WPB printed programs and publications.

Legacy Memberships through Endowed Funds for Excellence

Legacy memberships are funded through fund for excellence endowments established with the Auburn University Foundation. A Fund for Excellence carries the name of the donor (or a designee) and establishes the donor (or designee) as a WPB Legacy member in perpetuity.

Funds for Excellence are established with a $25,000 minimum gift and can be funded with gifts of cash, stocks, qualified charitable distributions from retirement accounts or other assets. Endowed funds forever remain for the support of WPB and its educational, mentoring, and philanthropic mission. The endowment fund is invested, and earnings provide a permanent source of financial support to the Women’s Philanthropy Board.

Legacy Endowments may be funded over a five-year period with a gift of $30,000. This would include an annual gift of $6,000 with $1,000 allocated towards annual membership and $5,000 allocated to the endowment.
